مَا يَقُولُ أَوْ يَفْعَلُهُ الْحَاجُّ عِنْدَ قُدُوْمِهِ وَ اسْتِحْبَابُ السَّلَامِ عَلَيْهِ وَ مُصَافَحَتِهِ وَ طَلَبِ الدُّعَاءِ مِنْهُWhat the Pilgrim Says or Does Upon Arrival, the Recommendation to Greet, Shake Hands, and Request Supplication from Him
Hadith 4599
اُردوEn
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : کَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنْ غَزْوٍ، أَوْ حَجٍّ، أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ ، فَعَلا فَدْفَدًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، أَوْ شَرَفًا ، قَالَ : ((اَللّٰهُ أَکْبَرُ، اَللّٰهُ أکْبَرُ، لا اِلٰهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيْکَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْکُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَ هُوَ عَلٰي کُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَدِيْرٌ، آيِبُوْنَ تَائِبُونَ سَاجِدُوْنَ عَابِدُوْنَ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُوْنَ، صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ وَعْدَهُ ، وَ نَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ، وَ هَزَمَ الأحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would return from any battle, Hajj, or Umrah journey, and would ascend a hard and elevated part of the land or any high place, he would recite this supplication: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest... and He alone defeated the confederates. (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no deity except Him, He is alone and has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and all praise is for Him, and He has power over all things. We are returning (to our homeland), repenting (from disobedience to obedience), prostrating, worshipping, and praising our Lord. Allah fulfilled His promise, helped His servant, and He alone defeated the armies.)
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "armies" is meant the armies of the enemies of Islam who gathered during the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwah al-Khandaq), and it is also possible to interpret this in a general sense, that is, it refers to the armies of disbelief (kufr), wherever they may be.
