Hadith 4584

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him): He said, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) clinging to the House of Allah between the Black Stone and the door of the Ka'bah, and I saw other people also clinging to the House of Allah along with him (peace and blessings be upon him).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr radi Allahu anhu narrates that: “The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would place his chest, his face, his two arms, and his two palms between the Corner (Rukn) and the Door, meaning: during the circumambulation (tawaf).” … The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, during tawaf, would place his chest, face, both arms, and both palms between the Corner and the Door. (Abu Dawud: 1899, Ibn Majah: 2962, authenticated by al-Albani in al-Sahihah: 2138)

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas radi Allahu anhu says: “Al-Multazam is what is between the Corner (Rukn) and the Door.” … The area between the Black Stone (Hajar Aswad) and the Door is the Multazam. (Musannaf ‘Abd al-Razzaq: 9047)

Azraqi said: This area is a total of four handspans. It is thus known that placing the chest, face, both arms, and both palms upon the Multazam is a recommended (mustahabb) act.
