(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلْيَكُنْ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ)) فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ: خَرَرْتَ مِنْ يَدَيَّ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ لَمْ تُحَدِّثْنِي (وَفِي لَفْظٍ) فَلَمْ تُخْبِرْنَا بِهِ
(Second chain) (Sayyiduna Harith رضي الله عنه said:) The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: Whoever performs Hajj or Umrah, his last act (before departure) should be bidding farewell to the House of Allah. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab رضي الله عنه said: May you perish! You heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم and yet you did not inform us about it.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: ... However, the majority of scholars hold the opinion that if a woman experiences menstruation (hayd) after performing the Tawaf al-Ifadah and then has to return home in that state, she may do so even without performing the Tawaf al-Wada‘. This ruling is also established from the next hadith, and this is the preferred (rajih) view. It is possible that Sayyiduna ‘Umar radi Allahu anhu was not aware of this hadith granting concession; otherwise, he was more deserving of following the example of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
