It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, after completing the sacrifices, sat down for the people. Whatever question was asked regarding the precedence or delay of any matter, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: "There is no harm, there is no harm." Until a man came and said: "I shaved my head before the sacrifice." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no harm." Then another man came and said: "I shaved my head before the stoning." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no harm." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, also said: "All of Arafah is a place of standing, all of Muzdalifah is a place of standing, and all of Mina is a place of sacrifice, and all the streets of Makkah are pathways and places of sacrifice."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … On the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, after returning from Muzdalifah, a total of four actions are performed; their Sunnah order is as follows:
1. Stoning of Jamrah al-‘Aqabah 2. Sacrificing or slaughtering the hady (sacrificial animal) 3. Shaving the head, either by complete shaving (halq) or shortening (taqsir) 4. Tawaf al-Ifadah

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that if these actions are not performed in this order, there is no harm, whether someone does so intentionally, forgetfully, or out of ignorance. The aforementioned ahadith support this view.

Nevertheless, the Sunnah order does hold importance, so one should not deliberately violate it; however, if the order is changed due to forgetfulness or lack of knowledge, that is a different matter. (Abdullah Rafiq)
