(وَعَنْهُمَا مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَّرَ طَوَافَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, delayed the Tawaf of the Day of Sacrifice until the night.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Another form of contradiction has arisen, and it is as follows: according to the first narrations of this chapter, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah before the time of zawal (decline of the sun), but in these narrations it is mentioned that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed this tawaf at night. This contradiction will be resolved in this way: the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam indeed performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah before zawal, but in order to have the Mothers of the Believers (Ummahat al-Mu'minin) perform this tawaf, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went again to Makkah Mukarramah at night. This reconciliation is supported by the narration of Sunan al-Bayhaqi: ((وَزَارَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مَعَ نِسَائِہٖ لَیْلًا)) … The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed the Tawaf al-Ziyarah at night with his wives.
