Hadith 4522

Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: When the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed the stoning of Jamrah ‘Aqabah and sacrificed the animal, he had his hair cut. He first turned the right side of his head towards the barber, and the shaved hair from that side he gave to Sayyiduna Abu Talhah, may Allah be pleased with him. Then he turned the left side, and the hair from that side he gave to other people.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is Sunnah to begin from the right side when shaving the head. The majority of people, due to ignorance or negligence, are heedless of this Sunnah. It is also understood that seeking blessing (tabarruk) from the noble body and hair of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is legislated (mashru‘).
