Abdur Rahman bin Yazid says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) stood in the middle of the valley and threw seven pebbles at Jamrah ‘Aqabah. With each pebble, he said “Allahu Akbar.” Someone said to him: “People throw (the pebbles) from the upper side?” He replied: “By Him besides whom there is no deity! This is the place of that person upon whom Surah Al-Baqarah was revealed.”
