Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this hadith, indeed, some narrator has made a mistake, because the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed the Fajr prayer in Muzdalifah on the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah. Imam Ahmad said: This matter is astonishing—what would the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam have to do in Makkah on the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah? It is also possible that there has been some advancement or delay (taqdim wa ta’khir) in the narration, and the original wording was as follows: "He ordered her on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr) to meet him for the Fajr prayer in Makkah," meaning that after the Day of Sacrifice, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instructed Umm Salamah radi Allahu anha to meet him for the Fajr prayer.
