Ibn Abi Najih says: I asked Tawus, if a person throws six pebbles at the Jamrah, what will happen to him? He said: He should give a handful of food in charity. After that, when I met Mujahid, I mentioned Tawus’s fatwa to him. He said: May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman, has the statement of Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) not reached him? He says: On the occasion of Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we performed the Rami of the Jamarat, after which we sat and talked. Someone said: I threw six pebbles, someone said: I threw seven, someone said: I threw eight, and someone said: I threw nine. Then they did not see any harm in it.
