Hadith 4459

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that on the night of departure, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at Batha until it became quite dark (then he began the journey).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … “The beginning of the night” means that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam actually departed from Arafat after the night had entered. While going from Arafat to Muzdalifah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed through the valley of Batha. From the valley of Batha (not in the valley of Batha), the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam departed after darkness had fallen. In the hadith, “Laylat an-Nafr” (the night of departure) refers to the night after the thirteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam set out on the journey to return to Madinah.
