Narrated from Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the day of Arafah, in the latter part of the day, I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on his mount. When the sun set, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the crowd of people and heard the noise, he said: "O people! Walk calmly, adhere to tranquility, hastening and exerting hardship is not a virtue." Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When there was a crowd of people, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would walk slowly, and when the path was clear, he would walk a bit faster (in nas, which is faster than ‘anaq), until when he passed through that valley about which most people think that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed there—in another narration: When he reached that valley where the nobles and caliphs descend, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and urinated there (the narrator did not use the word "ahraqa"), then I brought a vessel of water to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he performed ablution. Then I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Prayer." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We will pray ahead." Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted again and did not pray at that time, until he reached Muzdalifah, dismounted there, and combined and performed Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This valley is near Muzdalifah. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made his camel kneel there and urinated. In some chains of this hadith, it is mentioned that the caliphs used to perform the Maghrib prayer in this valley. By this are meant the caliphs and rulers of Banu Umayyah. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma did not agree with them, and Janab Ikrimah objected to them. Hafiz Ibn Hajar declared this action of those caliphs to be against the Sunnah; the Sunnah is to combine the two prayers and perform them at Muzdalifah.
