Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Arafah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) most frequently recited this supplication: "There is no god but Allah, alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, in His hand is all good, and He has power over everything."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The best statement that I and the Prophets before me have said on the evening of Arafah is: ‘La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu’l-mulku wa lahu’l-hamdu, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir.’” (There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He is over all things powerful.) (al-Tabarani: 13/2)
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “There is no day in which Allah frees more slaves from the Fire than the Day of Arafah. He draws near, then boasts about them to the angels, saying: What do these people want?” (Sahih Muslim)
In the lengthy hadith narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu in Sahih Muslim, it is mentioned: (After performing the Zuhr and Asr prayers) the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mounted (his camel) and reached the place of standing (wuquf), and stood there in such a way that the belly of his Qaswa’ camel was facing the rocks (lying beneath Jabal Rahmah), and the crowd of people was in front of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. He faced the qiblah there and remained standing in this manner until sunset. From hadith numbers (4465, 4466) it will be established that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to raise his hands and supplicate during the standing at Arafah. The pilgrims should observe all the Sunnahs of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam regarding the standing at Arafat, for example: listening to the sermon of the Imam and performing Zuhr and Asr in congregation with him; if the main congregation is missed, then perform these two prayers in their respective tents in the same manner; standing facing the qiblah; engaging abundantly in the prescribed remembrances (adhkar); other remembrances can also be made; not wasting time in conversation or lengthy eating and drinking. Reflect that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, after completing Zuhr and Asr, remained continuously facing the qiblah until sunset, while he was mounted.
Note: On the occasion of the Farewell Hajj (Hajjat al-Wada‘) of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the Day of Arafah was a Friday, but the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not perform the Friday prayer; rather, he performed the Zuhr prayer.
