It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Ya’mar Daili, he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was standing at Arafah, and I was also present there. During this time, some people from Najd came to your service and asked: O Messenger of Allah! How is Hajj performed? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Hajj is (standing at) Arafah. Whoever reaches Arafah before the Fajr prayer on the night of Muzdalifah, his Hajj is complete. And after Hajj, three days are to be spent in Mina. Allah the Exalted says: {فَمَنْتَعَجَّلَفِییَوْمَیْنِفَلَاإِثْمَعَلَیْہِوَمَنْتَأَخَّرَفَلَاإِثْمَعَلَیْہِ} (Whoever hastens to leave after two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever stays (and completes three days), there is also no blame upon him). After this, the Prophet made a man ride behind him on his mount, and he was loudly proclaiming these rulings as they went along.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … That is, the major pillar of Hajj is the standing (wuquf) at ‘Arafah; if this is missed, the Hajj is invalidated. Imam Shawkani said: Its apparent meaning is that standing for even a moment in any part of the land of ‘Arafah during its prescribed time will suffice. Further clarification will be provided in the next hadith.
