Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the morning of Arafah, we were going with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), among us were some who were saying the takbir and some who were calling out the talbiyah, however, we were saying the takbirs. Abdullah bin Abi Salamah said to Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar: I am greatly surprised at you, why did you not ask (Sayyiduna Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him) what exactly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself did?

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Although from the time of entering into the state of ihram for Hajj until the stoning of Jamrah ‘Aqabah on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, the recitation of the talbiyah (“Labbayk, Allahumma Labbayk…”) remains prescribed, nevertheless, other remembrances such as takbir (saying “Allahu Akbar”) and tahlil (saying “La ilaha illallah”) may also be recited in between.
