Hadith 4430

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Beware! Learn the rites (of Hajj) from me. So the people became lawful (came out of Ihram), until when the day of Tarwiyah came and they intended to go towards Mina, they recited the Talbiyah for Hajj.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah is called Yawm al-Tarwiyah. "Tarwiyah" is a verbal noun (masdar) from the form "rawwa yurawwi" (باب ’’رَوّٰییُرَوِّیْ‘‘). Its meaning is "to quench" or "to provide water." Since, on the eighth day, the honored pilgrims would take water for the coming days and make arrangements for quenching their thirst, this day is called the Day of Tarwiyah. This refers to the era when there were no wells or springs available; now, since water is abundantly available at every place, people have become free from the need to carry water with them or to make special arrangements for it.
