Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out of Masjid al-Haram heading towards Safa while saying: We too will begin the Sa’i from the place from which Allah Almighty has begun its mention.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The wording of the narration in Sahih Muslim is as follows: Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went towards Safa and recited this verse: {اِنَّالصَّفَاوَالْمَرْوَۃَمِنْشَعَائِرِاللّٰہِ} … “Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.” Then he said: “We will begin from that (hill) with which Allah began.” Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ascended Safa. Since Allah mentioned the hill of Safa first in the verse, therefore the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also began the sa’i (ritual walking) from Safa.
