(Second chain) She says: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah. The people were ahead of him, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, was behind them, running so fast that due to his brisk walking, his cloak was flying and I could see his knees. Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From the ahadith of this chapter, it is understood that performing sa'i during Hajj and 'Umrah is obligatory (fard), and it is a pillar (rukn); without it, Hajj and 'Umrah will not be complete, and it cannot be compensated for by any sacrifice or the like. This was the position of Sayyidah A'ishah radi Allahu anha, Imam Malik, Imam Ishaq, and according to one narration, Imam Ahmad as well.
