Hadith 4382

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ الْيَمَانِيِّ وَالْحَجَرِ: {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ}
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: I heard that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was reciting this supplication between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone: {رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِیْ الدُّنْیَا حَسَنَۃً وَ فِیْ الْآخِـرَۃِ حَسَنَـۃً وَقِـنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ} (O our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire). (Surah Al-Baqarah: 201)

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … During tawaf, the supplication between the Yemeni Corner (Rukn Yamani) and the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) should be recited specifically; in the remaining part of the circuit, any remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du'a) may be recited, and sending blessings and peace (salat wa salam) upon the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) can also be done. There is no specific dhikr for any particular circuit. Since tawaf has been referred to as prayer (salah), and the entirety of prayer consists of remembrance (dhikr), therefore, one should engage abundantly in dhikr during tawaf as well.
