Hadith 4376

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates in her lengthy hadith that those people who had assumed the Ihram for Umrah became lawful (halal) after performing the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah. However, after returning from Mina, they performed a separate Tawaf for Hajj. And those who had combined Hajj and Umrah, that is, had assumed the Ihram for Hajj Qiran, performed only one Tawaf.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The one performing Qiran Hajj will perform the Tawaf al-Qudum (arrival circumambulation) and the Sa’i (ritual walking) between Safa and Marwah, then on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah will perform the Tawaf al-Ifadah (main circumambulation), and this single tawaf will suffice for both Hajj and ‘Umrah. Likewise, the Sa’i performed with the Tawaf al-Qudum will also suffice for both. From the hadith under discussion and other authentic, explicit ahadith, it is understood that for the Qarin (one performing Qiran), not only the Sa’i but also a single tawaf of the House of Allah is sufficient.
