عَنْ مُسَافِعِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو (يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْعَاصِ) رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ: فَأَنْشُدُ بِاللَّهِ ثَلَاثًا وَوَضَعَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ، لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ((إِنَّ الرُّكْنَ وَالْمَقَامَ (وَفِي لَفْظٍ إِنَّ الْحَجَرَ وَالْمَقَامَ) يَاقُوتَتَانِ مِنْ يَاقُوتِ الْجَنَّةِ، طَمَسَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ نُورَهُمَا، وَلَوْ لَا أَنَّ اللَّهَ طَمَسَ نُورَهُمَا لَأَضَاءَتَا مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ (وَفِي لَفْظٍ: مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ)))
Musafih bin Shaibah says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I swear by Allah three times, then he put his fingers in his ears and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Black Stone and Maqam Ibrahim are two rubies from the rubies of Paradise. Allah Almighty has extinguished their light; if Allah had not extinguished their light, the space between the east and the west would have been illuminated by their brightness. In another narration: the space between the earth and the sky would have been illuminated.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The ahadith of this chapter mention the virtue of the Black Stone (Hajar Aswad) and the Yemeni Corner (Rukn Yamani). The following hadith is weak: ((Indeed, the Black Stone is the right hand of Allah on earth; through it He shakes hands with His creation.)) … “Indeed, the Black Stone is Allah’s right hand on earth, with which He shakes hands with His creation.” (Al-Mu‘jam Al-Awsat: 1/177)
