It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: Which animals can a Muhrim kill? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He may kill a snake, a scorpion, a rat, a rabid dog, a kite, and a ferocious beast, and he should scare away a crow but not kill it.
