(Eighth Chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to shave his head because of lice, and said: Fast for three days, or feed six needy people, giving two mudd to each needy person, or slaughter a goat.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … On the occasion of ‘Umrah, after the Sa‘i, and on the occasion of Hajj, shaving the head (halq) is done on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. If, due to some excuse, one has to shorten (taqsir) or shave (halq) the head before its appointed time, then it is permissible to do so, but one will have to pay a fidyah (compensation). The details of fidyah have been explained in this chapter.
