Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from a man who saw that on the Day of Tarwiyah (i.e., the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) set out towards Mina, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was at his side. In his hand was a stick, on which there was a cloth, with which he was shading the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
