Hadith 4264

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَخَّصَ أَوْ قَالَ فِي الْمُحْرِمِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى عَيْنَيْهِ أَنْ يَضْمَدَهَا بِالصَّبِرِ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted that if a person in the state of ihram has pain in his eyes, he may apply sabir.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: ... Aloe, which is a bitter plant, and its extract are called "sabr." In place of this substance, eye drops may also be used; in any case, there should not be any fragrance.
