(4th Chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying on this pulpit, while he was forbidding people during Ihram from those matters which are disliked for them. Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By prohibiting the shirt (qamees) and trousers (shalwar), it has been indicated that every garment is prohibited which is tailored to fit the body or any specific limb. By "ankles" is meant those two bones of each foot which are visible at the joint of the shin and the foot; generally, we refer to these very bones as ankles. By "niqab" is meant a woman fastening and tying a cloth over her face. Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: By niqab is meant that scarf (dupatta) which is tied on the nose or below the eye sockets. However, it should be kept in mind that just as a man cannot wear a shirt, but can cover his body with a sheet (chadar), and a woman cannot wear gloves, but her hands can be covered by her scarf or sheet, similarly, if a woman covers her face with a cloth in a manner different from the niqab, then this is permissible—for example, letting a cloth hang down from the head, or wearing a hat with a shade and letting a cloth hang from it. And Allah knows best what is correct.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu:
((The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade women in the state of ihram from wearing gloves, niqab, and garments touched by wars or saffron. After that, a woman may wear whatever garments she likes of various colors—dyed with ‘usfur (safflower), or made of wool, or silk, or jewelry, or trousers (sarawil), or shirt (qamees), or socks (khuff).)) … (Abu Dawood: 1827)

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade women during ihram from wearing gloves, niqab, and those clothes which have been touched by wars or saffron. After that, a woman may wear whatever garments she likes of various kinds—whether dyed yellow with the ‘usfur plant, or made of wool or silk, or jewelry, or trousers, or shirt, or socks.
