(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A person in the state of ihram cannot wear a coat or a cloak, a shirt, a turban, trousers, or socks. If shoes are not available, he may use socks after cutting them below the ankles. He also cannot wear any cloth that has been scented with wars or saffron, unless it has been washed.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma narrates: “The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam set out from Madinah after combing his hair, applying oil, and wearing his lower garment (izar), and he and his companions did likewise. He did not prohibit wearing any kind of cloak (rida’) or lower garment (izar), except for the one dyed with saffron, which leaves its color on the skin.” (Sahih Bukhari: 1545)
