Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever spends a day in the state of Ihram, continuously reciting the Talbiyah until the sun sets, will be cleansed of his sins as if it were the day his mother gave birth to him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this chapter, only the wording of the talbiyah is known; further rulings will be mentioned in the following chapters. The virtue of the talbiyah is established from the following ahadith:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “There is no one who recites the talbiyah except that he is given glad tidings, and there is no one who says the takbir except that he is also given glad tidings.” It was asked: “Glad tidings of Paradise?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Yes.” (Al-Mu‘jam al-Awsat: 7943, Sahihah: 1621)
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa‘d al-Sa‘idi radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whenever a person reciting the talbiyah says the talbiyah, everything to his right and left—be it stone, tree, or clod of earth—responds to his talbiyah, until the earth ends on this side and that.” (Ibn Majah: 2921)
