Lady Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) at the place of Bida’ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Instruct her to perform ghusl (ritual bath) and then enter into ihram.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is established from several narrations in Sahih Muslim and others that Sayyidah Asma’ radi Allahu anha’s child was born at the place of Dhu’l-Hulayfah, and in one narration it is mentioned that this birth took place near a tree, while all three locations are close to one another. The tree was in Dhu’l-Hulayfah, and adjacent to Dhu’l-Hulayfah is a high place called Bayda. Qadi ‘Iyad said: It is possible that Sayyidah Asma’ radi Allahu anha went to the place of Bayda to be away from the people, but since the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had stopped at Dhu’l-Hulayfah and spent the night at that place, therefore the stopping place of all the people was attributed to the stopping place of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
