Hadith 4164

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "A woman in the state of nifas (postnatal bleeding) or menstruation will perform ghusl (ritual bath) and then enter into ihram. She will perform all the rites except for the tawaf of the House of Allah. When she becomes pure, she will then perform the tawaf of the House of Allah."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … For a woman in menstruation (hayd) or postnatal bleeding (nifas), performing ritual bath (ghusl) at the time of entering into ihram, it should be kept in mind that this ritual bath is only for cleanliness and purification; it does not bring about any change in the rulings of menstruation or postnatal bleeding. This ritual bath is recommended (mustahabb).
