عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: وَقَّتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ الْعَقِيقَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of the East.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "the people of the East" are meant the people of Kufa, Baghdad, Khuzestan, Fars, Iraq, and Khurasan, and those connected regions. To the east, behind Dhat ‘Irq, there is a valley named ‘Aqiq.
