Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This ‘umrah is also called ‘Umrah al-Qada’, ‘Umrah of Reconciliation’, and ‘Umrah of Retaliation’. The reason for naming it ‘Umrah al-Qada’ is that this ‘umrah was performed in accordance with the decision that you (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) made with the polytheists at the place of Hudaybiyyah. By this, the ‘umrah of qada’ (make-up ‘umrah) is not meant, because for the one who is prevented on the way, making up (qada) is not obligatory upon him. You (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not enter the Ka‘bah on the occasion of ‘Umrah al-Qada’; you entered it on the occasion of the Conquest of Makkah. As for whether this happened during the Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wada‘) or not, there is a difference of opinion; clarification is coming ahead.
