Hadith 4108

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a Bedouin came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about ‘Umrah, is it obligatory? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: No, but if you perform ‘Umrah, it will be better for you.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the same way, the following hadith is also weak, which very clearly indicates the obligation of ‘umrah: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Al-hajj wa al-‘umrah fareedhatan (Hajj and ‘umrah are both obligatory).” (Ibn ‘Adiyy)
