Hadith 4101

Abu Imran Aslam says: I went for Hajj with my masters. I went to Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her: Can I perform Umrah before Hajj? She said: Yes, it is up to you, if you wish you may perform Umrah before Hajj, and if you wish you may do it after. I said that people say that one who has not performed Hajj before cannot perform Umrah. Then I asked the same question to the other Mothers of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with them), and all of them said the same thing that Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) had said. I came back and told them this, then she said: Yes, that is correct, but I will further reassure you, and that is that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O family of Muhammad! Say the Talbiyah for Umrah along with Hajj.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … At the end of the hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is commanding the performance of Hajj Qiran. In this Hajj, both Hajj and ‘Umrah are performed with a single ihram (state of consecration). The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself performed this very Hajj.
