It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he sought permission from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to perform ‘Umrah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission and also said: My brother! Do not forget us in your prayers. The narrator of the hadith, Shu’bah, later narrated the hadith in Madinah with these words: Keep us included in your prayers. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The fact that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called me his brother was so beloved to me that I would not prefer the whole world over it.
