It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: On the twenty-third night of Ramadan, we stood in prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) until the first third of the night, but then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I think that what you are seeking will come later. Then we stood with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the twenty-fifth night until half the night, but then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I think that the night you are searching for will be after this. So we stood with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the twenty-seventh night until morning, after which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The fact that after the twenty-seventh night the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam remained silent and did not guide towards the next odd night, proves that this very night is likely to be Laylat al-Qadr.
