Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us; he (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to inform us about the Night of Qadr, (but he saw that) two men were arguing, and then he said: I came to inform you about the Night of Qadr, but when I found two men arguing, the signs were lifted, and it is possible that there is good and betterment for you in this. Now seek it in the last ten nights, on the twenty-first, twenty-third, and twenty-fifth night.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this blessed hadith, one should also deduce how ominous an act it is for Muslims to quarrel among themselves, to the extent that, because of it, the signs of Laylat al-Qadr were lifted from the blessed chest of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The statement of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “Perhaps there is good and betterment for you in this,”—the reason for this betterment is that if the exact determination of Laylat al-Qadr had been made, then only one night would have been spent in worship. Now, whoever intends to attain Laylat al-Qadr will have to spend the five odd nights of the last ten nights in worship; among them, one will be the night of Qadr, and the reward for standing in worship on the remaining four nights will also be attained.
