عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَائِمًا فِي الْعَشْرِ قَطُّ
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I have never seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) observe fasting in the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is established from the verbal ahadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that there is great virtue in performing every type of worship, including fasting, during the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. However, it is prohibited to fast on the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, that is, the day of Eid al-Adha.
