Hadith 3947

عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ))
Narrated from Sayyiduna Qurrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fasting three days in every month is (like) fasting for the whole year, and (it is) also breaking the fast for the whole year.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The breaking of the fast for the entire year is in such a way that in one month, twenty-seven days are not fasted, and the fasting for the whole year is such that the reward of fasting for the entire year is attained.
