Hadith 3946

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The fasts of the month of patience, that is, Ramadan, and then three fasts of every month are equal to the fasts of the whole year; through them, the impurity of the chest is removed. I asked: What is meant by the impurity of the chest? He said: The filth of Satan.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In addition to reward and recompense, due to righteous deeds, there is also blessing (barakah) in the soul and body of the doer, and a person becomes purified from many impurities as well. The fasting person should reflect that just as he performs the great act of fasting with much patience, likewise he should muster the resolve to perform such good deeds and to avoid such evils for which less patience is required than for fasting.
