Hadith 3874

It is narrated from Sayyida Juwayriya (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her on a Friday while she was fasting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her: "Did you fast yesterday?" She replied: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) then asked: "Do you intend to fast tomorrow?" She replied: "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then break your fast."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From these two ahadith, it is understood that for the one who fasts on Friday (Jumu‘ah), it is necessary that he also intends to fast on Saturday (Sabt). Otherwise, when he becomes aware of this ruling, he should break his fast.
