It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting only on Friday, except if it is a habit of fasting on other days as well.

Benefits: … The hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu is also found in Sahih al-Bukhari (1975) and Sahih Muslim (1144), but its wording is as follows: ((لَایَصُوْمُاَحَدُکُمْیَوْمَالْجُمُعَۃِاِلّٰایَوْمًاقَبْلَہٗاَوْبَعْدَہٗ)) “None of you should fast on the day of Jumu‘ah (Friday), except that he fasts a day before it or a day after it.”
