Hadith 3862

Abu Sha’tha’ says: We came to Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) during the middle days of Tashreeq. At that time, food was brought and people gathered near to eat, but one of his sons stayed a little away. Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Come near and eat food. But he replied: I am fasting. Upon hearing this, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that these are days of eating, drinking, and remembrance (of Allah)?
