(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ): قَالَ: رَكِبْتُ مَعَ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ السَّفِينَةَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this hadith and the hadith of the previous chapter (3846), among the benefits mentioned, it is established from the hadith of Sayyiduna Anas radi Allahu anhu that when a person intends to travel at any time after the break of dawn (fajr), he may leave the fast for that day. This matter is exactly like the case where, regarding a person capable of fasting, the doctors have decided that on a certain day this person will undergo an operation; so on that day, neither will that person fast, nor will anyone allow him to fast.
