Hadith 3835

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a man during a journey around whom people had gathered, shade was provided over him, and people were saying that he is a fasting person. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It is not righteousness that you fast while traveling.
