Hadith 3821

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) بِمِثْلِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَزَادَ بَدَنَةً، وَقَالَ: عَمْرٌو فِي حَدِيثِهِ: وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَصُومَ يَوْمًا مَكَانَهُ
(Third chain) A similar hadith is narrated, however, in this there is an addition of the command to give charity of a camel. In his narration, Amr said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had commanded him to fast one day in compensation for it.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … According to the narration of Muwatta Imam Malik, the clarification of this addition is that first the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered him to free a slave, but when he expressed his inability, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered him to give a camel in charity. After that, the matter of fasting and feeding the poor was mentioned.
