بَابُ تَحْذِيرِ الصَّائِمِ مِنَ اللُّغْوِ وَالرَّفَثِ وَالْغِيبَةِ وَأَنَّ ذَلِكَ مُبْطِلٌ لِثَوَابِ الصَّوْمِChapter: Warning the Fasting Person Against Idle Talk, Obscenity, and Backbiting, and That This Invalidates the Reward of Fasting
Hadith 3803

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((رُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ وَالْعَطَشُ وَرُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ))
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Many fasting people are such that they gain nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and many who stand in prayer at night gain nothing from their standing except wakefulness.
