Hilal bin Ikrimah says: I asked Ikrimah whether a fasting person can get cupping done. He said: It is disliked because it may cause weakness. Then he narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram, but the reason for this was that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had eaten the meat of a poisoned goat, which a woman from Khaybar had given him (peace and blessings be upon him) to eat.
