Hadith 3760

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ رَابِعٍ) قَالَ: احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتِجَامَةً فِي رَأْسِهِ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ
(4th Chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had cupping performed on his head while in the state of ihram.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The ruling of all the narrations is before you; the following text from the narration of Sahih Bukhari is decisive in this matter:

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu says: اِحْتَجَمَ وَھُوَ صَائِمٌ، وَاحْتَجَمَ وَھُوَ مُحْرِمٌ — "He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had cupping (hijamah) done while he was fasting, and he had cupping done while he was in the state of ihram." It is thus evident that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had cupping done separately while in the state of ihram and separately while in the state of fasting. To consider these two things as occurring in the same state is a misconception.
