A companion of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) out of compassion for the companions, forbade them from continuous fasting and from cupping while fasting, but he did not declare these acts as unlawful. The wording of one narration is: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not declare either of these two acts unlawful for any of his companions.
