Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This narration is weak, but the following hadith establishes this issue:

Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi radi Allahu anhu reports that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Blessing is in three things: in congregations, in tharid, and in the pre-dawn meal (suhur).” (Al-Shu‘ab by al-Bayhaqi: 2/426/2, Al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir, Sahihah: 1045)

Tharid refers to a dish made by breaking bread and soaking it in broth; it is easily digestible and suffices with a smaller quantity of food. For example, if a person feels hungry for two loaves of bread, a tharid made from one loaf can satisfy him. Similarly, the pre-dawn meal (suhur) is also a blessed thing. The meaning of “blessing” (barakah) in food is that there is increased goodness in it.
